Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and responsible AI-assisted engineering use.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and approved automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience and advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes.
- Experience or background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is preferred.
