Responsibilities
- Design and develop trading tools and technical solutions across pre-trade, trade capture, and pricing domains.
- Analyze legacy systems and processes to identify improvements, modernization opportunities, and innovative solutions.
- Build and support real-time trading systems with hands-on development, testing, troubleshooting, and bug fixes.
- Collaborate with trading, risk, and P&L teams to deliver scalable and robust solutions.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions and lead pilot projects evaluating new technologies and methodologies.
- Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools while establishing standards for correctness, performance, secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
- Develop transformation metrics and KPIs and communicate progress to senior leadership.
- Coach engineers on responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI-assisted development practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Experience with Java or Python, Spring Boot, and messaging systems.
- Strong programming and problem-solving skills with experience supporting real-time trading systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL and stored procedures.
- Experience developing software with Kafka, IBM MQ, Tibco, and AMPS.
- Required exposure to AWS technology.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience with transformation projects in fixed-income trading systems and complex system design, testing, and operational stability.
- Ability to influence across complex matrixed organizations and deliver value at scale.
- Preferred experience includes banking, AWS certification, presentation, negotiation, mentoring, stakeholder management, and sharing engineering best practices.
