Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for data scientists and ML engineers on architecture, tooling, debugging, and production design.
- Architect the transition from experimentation to reproducible, productionized ML systems with consistent evaluation and reliable handoffs.
- Define shared patterns for model deployment, versioning, release, reuse, and scalability.
- Build closed-loop telemetry and experimentation workflows so production performance informs model refinement.
- Manage ML infrastructure and model-serving costs through rightsizing, caching, and consolidated spend visibility.
- Identify and remediate dependency, access, credential, and secure-deployment risks in partnership with security teams.
- Support engineers through hands-on technical guidance, pairing, constructive reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience across MLOps, DevOps, or software engineering.
- Strong experience building, shipping, and maintaining machine learning systems on AWS, including services such as SageMaker, EC2, EKS, and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end data science lifecycle and scaling ML infrastructure for production model delivery.
- Knowledge of MLOps tooling, CI/CD practices, model registries, and orchestration platforms such as Metaflow, MLflow, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience building event-driven or distributed systems using modular and reusable engineering approaches.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization, infrastructure security, and IAM/access management.
- Successful candidates must complete a National Police Record check and have full-time Australian working rights.
