Base Salary
$230k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Mentor engineers and drive professional development within technical teams.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and use observability to optimize distributed-system performance.
- Drive cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred experience includes 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with open-source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud technologies, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience includes mentoring senior engineers, optimizing distributed-system performance through observability, leading architecture reviews, enforcing coding standards, and implementing reliability practices at scale.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI productivity tooling, technology strategy, and large-scale technical initiatives is preferred.
