- Enable Spring Boot applications, sidecars, lightweight containers, and batch or stream-processing workloads to share platform capabilities without duplicated logic.
- Set and maintain memory, startup-time, and disk-footprint budgets through benchmarking and regression checks.
- Own API versioning, compatibility, side-by-side versioning, long-term support, and migration costs for released interfaces.
- Coordinate with Java Platform, Compute, Service Mesh, and partner teams on gRPC, metrics, configuration, and other platform standards.
- Guide engineering customers toward Spring Boot, lightweight libraries, or improved guidance based on their needs.
- Lead through technical direction, design reviews, mentoring, written decision records, and development of the Warsaw hub.

- Demonstrated experience with Java and distributed systems, including long-term API and architectural decision ownership.
- Modern Java expertise, including Java 17 and 21 or later, the standard library, concurrency, and public API design.
- Knowledge of JVM internals and performance, including the memory model, garbage collection, class loading, startup time, and constrained-environment footprint.
- Experience with library and dependency design, minimal dependency trees, classpath isolation, binary compatibility, and multiple runtimes or containers.
- Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including gRPC, HTTP, service mesh, metrics, configuration systems, and failure modes.
- Experience building developer tooling such as testing frameworks, compatibility checks, linters, or CLIs.
- Experience leading multi-team technical efforts, resolving disagreements, making difficult decisions with incomplete information, and mentoring engineers.
- Familiarity with Spring internals and Spring Boot integration is preferred.
- Experience with class data sharing, jlink, ahead-of-time compilation, sidecars, agents, containerized Java services, Gradle plugin development, or build tooling is preferred.
