Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of backend services and cloud-native platform components using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and FastAPI.
- Build, enhance, and operate event-driven, real-time data pipelines using Kafka and related streaming technologies.
- Design and maintain Java APIs and microservices using REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL, and gRPC.
- Develop reliable and responsive user interfaces using Angular or React.
- Own solutions from technical design and architecture through production deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize systems for performance, scalability, resilience, reliability, and low-latency operation.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and hands-on technical leadership.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and distributed technology teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support production systems, perform root-cause analysis, and drive ongoing service improvements.
- Contribute to engineering standards, Agile ceremonies, delivery improvements, and platform evolution.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in full-stack software engineering, preferably in financial services, capital markets, or complex enterprise environments.
- Advanced experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices architectures, and distributed systems.
- Strong Python development experience, preferably with FastAPI or similar API frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or comparable event-streaming technologies.
- Strong understanding of REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, and service integration patterns.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Amazon Redshift, and other relational or NoSQL platforms.
- Frontend development experience with Angular or React.
- Experience deploying and operating production-grade systems in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience leading technical delivery, mentoring engineers, and influencing architecture decisions.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, observability tooling, monitoring, distributed tracing, data governance, data lineage, entitlements, and financial-services regulatory considerations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-engagement, and independent-working abilities.
