Responsibilities
- Understand, challenge, and refine business requirements with stakeholders.
- Design and architect Java-based applications according to architectural guidelines and best practices.
- Develop efficient, reusable, maintainable, scalable, secure, and production-ready software.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level developers and promote technical excellence.
- Own critical application components and lead development activities.
- Conduct code reviews and promote software development standards.
- Troubleshoot defects, bottlenecks, and application issues and implement improvements.
- Develop monitoring and alerting capabilities for production environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in English.
- Communicate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java experience at a senior level.
- At least 3 years of PostgreSQL experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or equivalent DevOps tools.
- Strong understanding of software design and development principles.
- Experience with enterprise application development and maintenance.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong understanding of complex information systems and business processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor and support other developers.
- English and either French or Dutch are mandatory; all three languages are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is desirable.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices, microservices architecture, and large-scale enterprise transformation projects is desirable.
