Responsibilities
- Design and deliver carrier test and observability platform components covering active voice and messaging testing, quality scoring, and global test coverage.
- Build high-throughput data and alerting systems that provide actionable operational signals.
- Extend and harden production LLM systems for automated carrier troubleshooting, including evaluation, observability, and guardrails.
- Diagnose cross-boundary failures involving test results, carrier behavior, and platform telemetry.
- Contribute to technical designs and reviews, mentor engineers, and establish durable written standards.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant staff- or principal-level experience working on large-scale systems.
- Deep expertise designing, operating, and debugging distributed systems that process high-volume time-series or event data in production.
- Experience with alerting, anomaly detection, and failure isolation.
- Hands-on experience taking LLM-based systems to production, including context and tool design, evaluation, cost and latency management, and action-enabling guardrails.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language used at scale, such as Java, Go, or Scala, plus fluency with event streaming and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly in writing and influence peers through design review.
- Experience with telecommunications, messaging, voice systems, active network testing, monitoring, quality-of-service measurement, or agentic systems is desired.
