Responsibilities
- Contribute to service design, implementation, refactoring, automated testing, deployment, and uptime.
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and professional development.
- Lead one or more Scrum teams in designing and delivering epics and backlog stories.
- Improve internal team processes and help establish the vision for owned services.
- Help align the roadmap with customer and company priorities.
- Build simple, well-tested services with strong production-performance visibility.
Requirements
- Passion for software development and working collaboratively with other engineers.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences and multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of continuous delivery, unit testing, and automated testing.
- Prior experience delivering at least one key project using Agile.
- Comfort working across frontend, backend, and database application tiers.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, MySQL, Angular, Node, MongoDB, and AWS.
- Strong understanding of web technologies and performance, including HTTP, caching, page rendering, and sockets.
- Strong software development fundamentals covering data structures, algorithms, problem solving, object-oriented design, and system architecture.
- Exposure to microservice architecture, domain-driven design, and REST APIs.
- Experience managing Git and release workflows.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science.
- At least 8 years of Java or JavaScript programming experience.
