Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, consolidate, and migrate reusable CI/CD pipelines and templates using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, including legacy Jenkins and GitLab pipelines.
- Build Terraform modules and Ansible content for repeatable infrastructure provisioning across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- Implement policy-as-code and self-service automation for security, tagging, cost, configuration, and provisioning standards.
- Engineer and operate Kubernetes platforms on AKS, EKS, and OpenShift, including Helm charts, GitOps workflows, ingress, autoscaling, and workload onboarding.
- Support product teams with application containerization and migration onto the platform.
- Contribute to the internal developer platform and developer portal through Backstage templates, scaffolding, golden paths, documentation, and reference implementations.
- Embed automated testing, code quality, security scanning, dependency scanning, and SBOM generation into delivery pipelines.
- Implement secrets and certificate management using HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, and cloud-native key services.
- Own platform availability, performance, and capacity, and instrument services with observability tooling.
- Contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, corrective actions, and continuous reduction of toil and technical debt.
- Write tested, peer-reviewed automation code in Git and use AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate with Cybersecurity, Cloud, Architecture, Operations, and internal product teams.
Requirements
- Typically five to eight years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Practical Terraform infrastructure-as-code experience and Ansible configuration-management experience.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and application containerization.
- Working knowledge of at least one major public cloud and exposure to a second.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
- Experience integrating security and quality controls into automated pipelines.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
- Preferred experience with OpenShift, Backstage or another developer portal, and GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Preferred experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cribl, or Observe.
- Preferred experience with policy-as-code, software supply-chain security, DevSecOps, SRE, FinOps, validated or GxP environments, and GDPR-related data-protection obligations.
- Preferred certifications include AWS or Azure associate/professional certifications, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Application Developer, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.
