Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable Java microservices and distributed backend components.
- Create and optimize Docker images, Dockerfiles, container configurations, and build pipelines.
- Develop Python scripts, utilities, automation tools, and data-processing components.
- Design and tune Oracle database structures, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, queries, indexes, and execution plans.
- Build and consume enterprise REST APIs and maintain API specifications and system documentation.
- Perform unit and integration testing using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
- Use generative AI tools for code generation, testing, debugging, refactoring, and engineering automation.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and Quality Engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Investigate technical problems and critical incidents, conduct code and architecture reviews, and contribute to operational automation.
Requirements
- 5–9 years of hands-on professional software engineering and backend systems development experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with modern Java, including Java 17/21+ features, concurrency, memory management, and virtual threads/Project Loom.
- Production experience designing, building, and operating microservices with Spring Boot and related service integration patterns.
- Practical experience creating and optimizing Docker images, Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, and container configurations.
- Strong Oracle Database and PL/SQL experience, including stored procedures, packages, bulk operations, cursors, indexing, and execution-plan tuning.
- Working knowledge and hands-on exposure to Python for development, scripting, data manipulation, or automation.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, working with JSON, and applying contract-first API design.
- Capability and enthusiasm for using AI tools to improve engineering efficiency and automate repetitive work.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes or OpenShift, Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, Tekton, Artifactory, SonarQube, Redis, and Hazelcast.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, documentation, and deadline-management skills are expected.
