Responsibilities
- Design and build production design-system components in Angular and TypeScript on a foundation of semantic HTML, ARIA, and modern CSS custom properties.
- Own interaction decisions, component design, and front-end architecture from requirements through implementation.
- Translate complex process-intelligence data and AI-driven behaviors into clear, intuitive, high-performance operator experiences.
- Set standards for front-end quality, visual polish, motion, animation, performance, and accessibility.
- Prototype novel interaction concepts and turn design visions into distinctive, testable experiences.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to evolve the design system through a contribution model.
- Maintain tokens-as-code in W3C DTCG format and structure component metadata, documentation, and APIs for AI coding agents.
- Author and maintain Figma Code Connect mappings between Figma components and coded components.
- Build CI guardrails including visual-regression, accessibility, and token-compliance checks.
- Use AI design and coding tools daily to critique and correct generated output.
- Lead design-system initiatives and mentor designers and engineers contributing to the system.
Requirements
- Approximately 5–8 years of experience across design engineering, UX engineering, or front-end development, including significant hands-on design-system or component-library work in a SaaS or B2B environment.
- Strong production front-end skills in Angular and TypeScript with solid HTML and CSS fundamentals; React experience or openness to React is a plus.
- Ability to independently own design decisions, translate ambiguous requirements into usable UX, and operate with minimal oversight.
- Deep understanding of design token architecture and modern token pipelines.
- Strong Figma fluency and ability to move between design and code.
- Demonstrated accessibility expertise implemented in code, including WCAG 2.2.
- Hands-on fluency with AI design and coding tools and a responsible perspective on their use.
- Strong product mindset, ownership orientation, communication skills, and senior individual-contributor leadership.
- Experience with Figma Code Connect in production is a bonus.
- Experience building or integrating MCP servers, including Figma Dev Mode MCP or custom design-system MCP servers, is a bonus.
- Experience building evals for AI-generated UI or writing specifications and prompts for AI generation is a bonus.
- Experience with complex, data-dense, or real-time interfaces is a bonus.
- Token-pipeline experience with Style Dictionary, Tokens Studio, or equivalent is a bonus.
