Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex systems and APIs consumed across the business unit.
- Operate Tier 1 and business-critical services, participate in on-call rotations, respond to production incidents, and use monitoring and alerting tools.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and lead code evolution through structured code reviews.
- Collaborate across teams to identify dependencies, solve problems, and develop stakeholder-aligned solutions.
- Design clean, maintainable, modular, optimized software using software design principles, data structures, and design patterns.
- Test, debug, and resolve production issues within established SLAs.
- Identify inefficiencies in code or system operations and propose improvements.
- Share technical knowledge through communities of practice and present operational or technical findings to stakeholders.
- Apply knowledge of software frameworks, databases, and database design principles to develop data solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience, with 5+ years of software development experience; alternatively, a master’s degree or equivalent related professional experience with 3+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least three programming languages, including primary experience with Java, Kotlin, or another JVM-based language.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB.
- Experience operating Tier 1 or business-critical services, including on-call rotations, production incident response, and monitoring and alerting.
- Experience maintaining and operating at least four software projects or products in production environments.
- Experience designing and building APIs for consumption across a business unit.
- Knowledge of software design principles, data structures, design patterns, and computer science fundamentals.
- Familiarity with testing and monitoring tools and the ability to design testable and observable software.
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously across cross-functional teams.
