Responsibilities
- Own application components across architecture, build, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into implementation plans with product, design, business, and engineering stakeholders.
- Design and deliver secure, resilient, high-performance services and user experiences for enterprise-scale managed-account platforms.
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, estimation, and implementation for high-impact initiatives.
- Coach engineers through code reviews, pairing, technical stories, and engineering standards.
- Lead responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools, including validation of AI-generated code for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
- Improve CI/CD, test automation, developer experience, operational readiness, and engineering feedback loops.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- At least 10 years of hands-on enterprise software engineering experience with Java, J2EE, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Hibernate or another ORM, microservices, and relational databases such as Oracle or Sybase.
- Experience leading AI-assisted software development practices and coaching engineers on safe, compliant use of AI tools.
- Strong experience designing scalable, secure, resilient, and observable distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design, Domain-Driven Design, microservices patterns, client-server architecture, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong test-driven development skills and experience with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, or comparable automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL, complex queries, joins, stored procedures, views, indexes, and database change management.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines with Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, or equivalent tools.
- Experience leading technical work in collaborative, cross-functional software delivery teams.
- Preferred experience with React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, Redux, Kafka, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, Cloud Foundry, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
- Banking, wealth management, managed accounts, or broader financial-services experience is preferred.
