Base Salary

$87k - $157k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop microservices for the L-CAP automation platform.
  • Translate system designs into robust and scalable software implementations with architects.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations in a hybrid cloud data mesh architecture.
  • Integrate relational and NoSQL databases while ensuring data consistency and performance.
  • Perform profiling, benchmarking, latency analysis, performance tuning, and optimization for distributed services.
  • Conduct and lead code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across services, APIs, and infrastructure layers.
  • Create technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and runbooks.
  • Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies, PI planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Modernize legacy air traffic control automation into cloud-native, service-based implementations while preserving operational behavior and performance.
  • Adopt AI-assisted development tools, automation, and modern engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience for the junior level, 4 years for the mid level, or 8 years for the senior level.
  • Production software development proficiency in Java or C++.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
  • Experience with performance engineering, profiling, benchmarking, optimization, interface stability, API versioning, and legacy software modernization.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Git, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe frameworks and iterative delivery.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully complete government-required background investigations.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Preferred experience includes Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Kafka, RabbitMQ, streaming architectures, Terraform, Ansible, data mesh patterns, domain-driven design, AI-assisted development tools, and aviation, defense, safety-critical, or real-time distributed systems.

  • Candidates outside the stated commuting areas may be considered for a 100% remote role.
