Responsibilities
- Own a strategic merchant’s technical success as the primary engineering contact.
- Work with merchant engineering and business teams to scope problems and define technical plans.
- Write and review production code, including custom flows, SDK integrations, orchestration logic, and server-to-server hooks.
- Use coding, knowledge, and routing AI agents to accelerate development, understand merchant context, and triage incidents.
- Identify repeated solutions and feed reusable patterns back into Razorpay product teams.
- Maintain regular merchant communication and acknowledge merchant-raised issues within two hours.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on coding ability in Python and at least one of Java, Go, or TypeScript.
- Typically 4+ years of experience at SDE2+ level, with exceptional candidates having less experience considered.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a real production project, ideally involving customer contact.
- Daily fluency with AI coding tools and agents.
- Experience working through ambiguity and progressing without a fully defined specification.
- Hands-on solutions architect or data/ML engineering background with real shipping experience.
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, integration patterns, cloud systems, and debugging distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex systems to non-technical merchant leaders.
- Comfort with payment flows is a strong plus.
