Responsibilities
- Lead feature work end to end by shaping scope, making architectural decisions, prioritizing cuts, and owning post-launch outcomes.
- Use AI tooling and agents in software development and help the broader team adopt effective AI-assisted workflows.
- Coach engineers through pairing, code review, delegation, and direct feedback.
- Identify and implement improvements to team processes, validating their impact with metrics.
- Partner with the engineering manager and product manager on roadmap decisions, problem discovery, and constructive challenge.
- Connect shipped work to company objectives and track a chosen success metric.
Requirements
- Have 8+ years of experience building software at product companies.
- Currently be a Senior Software Engineer, Lead Engineer, Tech Lead, Senior Full Stack Engineer, Senior Product Engineer, or similar.
- Have a deep technical and software architecture foundation and be able to explain system trade-offs and scaling risks.
- Use AI and agents as a default working method and be able to explain the tools, models, and harnesses used.
- Have coached peers, including non-junior engineers, with demonstrable skill development outcomes.
- Have driven a change in team processes and confirmed its impact with a metric.
- Demonstrate strong communication, constructive disagreement, proactive behavior, sound judgment, and the ability to decide what not to build.
- Nice to have experience in a fast-growing SaaS or B2B product company.
- Nice to have experience running evaluations, monitoring inference costs, or managing production model failure modes such as hallucinations.
- Nice to have experience serving as the technical counterpart to a product manager or engineering manager on a roadmap.
