Responsibilities
- Lead complex, companywide technology initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review complex large-scale technology solutions.
- Develop engineering standards, companywide best practices, and architecture governance practices.
- Serve as the technical authority for assigned products and platforms.
- Make strategic technology decisions and influence the organization’s AI engineering vision.
- Collaborate with technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex issues.
- Lead projects and teams, mentor senior and junior engineers, and build high-performing technical teams.
- Drive code quality, operational excellence, monitoring, resiliency, and risk-conscious engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination thereof.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and full-stack development.
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience building web applications with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular or React.
- Preferred experience with agentic AI platforms, RAG solutions, orchestration frameworks, and multi-agent systems.
- Preferred experience with Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, and proprietary enterprise models, including multi-model LLM strategies.
- Understanding of AI model governance, explainability, validation, security, and risk management in regulated environments.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, Kafka, streaming platforms, asynchronous integration patterns, cloud-native platforms, and modern deployment architectures.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, or Cursor.
- Strong understanding of observability, production monitoring, resiliency engineering, and platform reliability.
- Mortgage-domain experience and knowledge of workflow automation, intelligent document processing, decision engines, and AI-driven business process optimization are preferred.
- Prior experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and contributing to enterprise architecture initiatives is preferred.
