Responsibilities
- Build and operate Python backend services on AWS, including Lambda functions, DynamoDB, Aurora, and event-driven pipelines serving production traffic.
- Design and develop the distributed execution engine that runs customer workflows.
- Address latency, reliability, and scalability challenges.
- Own systems from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Make key architectural decisions and guide how systems are built.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor teammates, and improve development tooling and processes.
- Collaborate directly with Product and Design to shape future product development.
- Use agentic AI tools as part of the daily engineering workflow.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience, including a proven track record of leading complex projects in a senior capacity for two or more years.
- Deep expertise in Python and backend systems on cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Strong system design skills and the ability to make and defend architectural trade-offs.
- Depth in at least one of data pipelines and storage, event-driven architectures, caching and performance, or serverless systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model from the Berlin HQ, London office, or Iasi hub.
- Experience with EventBridge, SQS, or similar messaging systems is preferred.
- Experience with multi-level caching using Redis, DynamoDB, or in-memory caching is preferred.
- Experience with serverless systems at scale, Lambda, SAM, or CloudFormation is preferred.
