Responsibilities
- Create and deliver customer-centric solution designs, proposed architectures, and business outcomes for technical and executive audiences.
- Partner with Account Executives and prospective customers on technical pre-sales, discovery, requirements workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and solution strategy.
- Advise customers on use-case patterns and support successful deployment of the CDP platform.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering teams.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product roadmap items.
- Participate in evangelism activities, including blogs, meetups, industry events, and internal and external knowledge repositories.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical consultant, or Solutions Architect.
- Experience conducting technical discovery, whiteboarding solution architectures, running demonstrations, building technical proofs of concept, and remaining hands-on with technology.
- Experience with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kudu, and Solr.
- Experience with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud, with interest in obtaining public cloud certification.
- Experience with Linux, bare metal, virtual machines, and distributed container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehousing principles, SQL, relational database patterns, and application integration.
- Basic software development experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with enterprise security and data governance, open-source software, NoSQL and operational databases, data warehouses, data science and machine learning, integration products, and data flow, queues, and stream processing.
- Preferred technologies include HBase, Phoenix, Accumulo, Druid, Cassandra, MongoDB, R, Anaconda, Jupyter, deep learning frameworks, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Exadata, Talend, DataStage, Informatica BDM, Qlik, Tableau, Zoomdata, Tibco, MuleSoft, IBM, Oracle, Spring Integration, Nifi, Kafka, and Flink.
