Goldman SachsResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy backend software across the Prime Custody engineering stack.
- Build and maintain Kafka-based event-driven services on AWS and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to data modeling, schema design, and data contracts between backend services and UI consumers.
- Manage infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle with Terraform.
- Write shell scripts for build automation and operational support.
- Perform unit testing and root cause analysis of system issues.
- Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to management and peers.
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional engineering teams to uphold standards across the SDLC.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Java, including concurrency and collections.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Integration, and Spring Data.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, and one or more of DB2, Sybase, or Snowflake.
- Proficiency with shell scripting, Git, and IntelliJ IDEA and/or VS Code.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Java-based backend development.
- Familiarity with REST API design, enterprise integration patterns, data modeling, and backend-to-UI data contracts.
- Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
- Proficiency with GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
- Financial-services or capital-markets experience is preferred.
- Exposure to observability tooling and mainframe application development is preferred.
