Responsibilities

Consult on, design, build, and operationalize large-scale enterprise data solutions using AWS and third-party data and analytics services.
Analyze, re-architect, and re-platform on-premises data stores and databases onto modern AWS data platforms.
Design and build production data pipelines from ingestion through consumption using Java, Python, and Scala.
Design and optimize AWS data models and implement data engineering, ingestion, and curation functions.
Assess current-state data platforms and define AWS migration transition paths for customer consultations and business proposals.
Lead client design workshops, provide architectural trade-offs and recommendations, and build proofs of concept for business needs.
Partner with executive stakeholders as a trusted advisor and enable technical implementers.
Mentor engineers on coding best practices and problem solving.

11–16 years of experience with AWS.
Experience with big data architectures in cloud and on-premises environments.
Proficiency with AWS collection services including Kinesis, Kafka, and Database Migration Service.
Proficiency with AWS storage services including S3, EBS, and EFS.
Proficiency with AWS compute services including EC2, Lambda, ECS, and EKS.
Proven experience with Java, Scala, Python, and shell scripting.
Working experience with Athena, Glue, PySpark, EMR, DynamoDB, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, Apache Spark, Databricks on AWS, and Snowflake on AWS.
Proficiency with Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, and DynamoDB.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or AWS Certified Data Analytics certification.
Good knowledge of SQL and experience migrating workloads from on-premises environments to the cloud.
Experience monitoring distributed infrastructure with AWS or open-source tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack is advantageous.
