Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend microservices in TypeScript and NestJS on AWS ECS.
- Design, implement, document, and secure RESTful APIs while helping evolve APIs toward GraphQL.
- Migrate AWS Lambda functions into containerized ECS services and modernize legacy systems.
- Collaborate with frontend, mobile, product, and design teams to deliver integrated features.
- Write tested code, participate in peer reviews, and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor service performance, troubleshoot production issues, own service reliability, and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building backend or full-stack applications in a cloud environment.
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript and Node.js skills, with NestJS preferred or experience with comparable frameworks such as Express or Koa.
- Experience with AWS architecture and deploying containerized applications using ECS, EKS, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, RESTful APIs, API security, and performance.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and efficient query and data-access optimization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform or CloudFormation, and monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Ability to work across unfamiliar projects and technology stacks with strong communication, collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience with microservice design patterns, REST, gRPC, message queues, API gateways, service mesh, Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices, Stripe, Apple App Store subscriptions, or Google Play subscriptions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
