Responsibilities
- Build and own the test automation framework across Rust and Python for unit, integration, regression, and scenario-level testing.
- Integrate test suites and security checks into CI/CD with enforced quality gates.
- Enforce security boundaries so CUI and export-controlled data do not enter prohibited test paths.
- Own quality metrics and dashboards covering coverage, flake rate, false positives, and detection and triage time.
- Maintain go/no-go checklists and issue release recommendations supported by functional, security, and compliance evidence.
- Triage test failures, diagnose root causes, maintain test-suite health, and identify coverage gaps.
- Translate quality status into release decisions for engineering, program, and mission leadership.
- Grow the Core Engineering QE function as the organization expands.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software quality engineering experience, including building test infrastructure.
- Production-quality engineering practices for test code and maintained test harnesses.
- Required Python experience and Rust experience or a clear plan to learn Rust.
- Hands-on experience integrating CI/CD gates, debugging flaky tests, and enforcing release blocks.
- Experience owning quality dashboards and metrics that inform go/no-go decisions.
- Fluency in distributed and concurrent systems and their failure modes.
- Experience integrating security testing into CI/CD, including SAST, dependency scanning, and compliance validation aligned to NIST 800-171 or equivalent.
- Experience designing test infrastructure that respects security boundaries and vendor guardrails.
- Background in defense, robotics, aerospace, or autonomous systems.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred experience with HIL or SIL testing, simulation-based test pipelines, edge testing, resource-constrained systems, or an active security clearance.
