Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evolve backend services and game logic for scalable casino, virtual sports, betting, and entertainment products.
- Translate product and game design requirements into robust technical solutions and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Build clean, maintainable, well-tested software and implement unit, integration, and automated tests.
- Own technical decisions, contribute to architecture discussions, planning, and retrospectives, and improve engineering practices.
- Design and maintain production backend services, including domain logic, business rules, schemas, queries, and indexing.
- Take ownership of features from technical design through production and support reliable operations.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance across the team.
- Evaluate and use AI-assisted development tools while ensuring generated code is correct, secure, and maintainable.
Requirements
- Strong professional software engineering experience focused on backend development and production-grade systems.
- Strong experience with Java and hands-on Spring Boot experience, including REST APIs, configuration, and security fundamentals.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, clean code, and SOLID design principles.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining backend services in production environments.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, including schema design, efficient queries, and indexing.
- Experience implementing domain logic, business rules, or game-related mechanics in scalable systems.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, pull requests, messaging systems, and event-driven technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Practical Docker experience, including image building, local development, and containerized services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, solve problems, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and balance quality with delivery speed.
- Willingness to mentor engineers and work proactively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Preferred experience includes game development, casino games, virtual sports, betting products, or real-time and high-availability entertainment systems.
- Preferred knowledge includes Kubernetes, Helm, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and scalable system architecture.
- Ability to design for performance, reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability.
- Experience using and critically evaluating AI tools in software development workflows.
