Responsibilities
- Analyze and implement innovative, efficient, and cost-effective software solutions across multiple platforms.
- Guide engineers in software design, development, code testing, debugging, issue resolution, and adoption of emerging technologies.
- Perform root-cause analysis, define problems, implement and verify solutions, and optimize ongoing results.
- Mentor and coach engineers and collaborate with other technology areas on software and application implementations.
- Use data and cost measures, including AWS infrastructure and labor, to support decisions and project or production objectives.
- Build relationships with Wellmark leaders and consult on business status, process improvements, and technology enhancements.
- Participate in project proposals, estimates, proof-of-concept activities, and industry or knowledge reference groups.
- Drive adoption of development standards, automated testing, and CI/CD practices across platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field plus at least two years of software development experience, or six years of related and applicable experience.
- Experience with software development technologies such as Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, or SQL.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, research, and solution-implementation skills.
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and the ability to apply industry best practices.
- Ability to lead, mentor, coach, and collaborate within diverse development teams, including global staffing models and crowdsourcing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, build relationships, and gain support for solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work with changing priorities.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, Agile team experience, mentoring or coaching interest, and experience partnering with global staffing vendors.
