Base Salary
$194k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement query optimization, transaction management, and distributed data-processing algorithms in the Core Mining Engine.
- Analyze and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Design and implement high-performance systems for increasing database request rates, from execution-plan representations through parallel vectorized execution and resource management.
- Build, launch, and maintain production features and write clean, understandable, and testable code.
- Evangelize database-usage and end-to-end architecture best practices.
- Mentor and grow teammates, review peer designs and code, and provide technical feedback.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Document development procedures, concepts, and technical knowledge.
- Improve the developer work environment and contribute to an inclusive engineering culture.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science required; a Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience required.
- Significant experience with database internals or core components such as query optimization, query execution, storage engines, or transaction processing for large-scale data-processing systems.
- Experience programming with C++ 17.
- Strong understanding of complex data structures and algorithms in data management.
