Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain overall quality strategies for distributed, cloud-based backup features.
- Design, architect, and maintain modular, scalable, reusable automated testing solutions and automation pipelines.
- Perform functional, manual, automated, white-box, and black-box testing across the product lifecycle.
- Own end-to-end QA for medium to complex features and validate deployments in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with developers on design reviews, functional requirements, testability, automation, and quality gaps.
- Plan test cycles, estimate and track work, participate in bug triage, and monitor quality metrics.
- Evaluate AI-assisted testing tools and Generative AI workflows for test generation, automation, and bug analysis.
- Develop automation ROI models and reduce test infrastructure COGS and operating expenses.
- Evaluate and recommend quality tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Mentor and guide QA/SDET team members.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering, analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and QA fundamentals.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java and good shell scripting skills.
- Experience designing automation frameworks, tools, and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Experience with security, scale, performance, API, white-box, and web application testing.
- Knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, or Puppeteer for front-end web application test automation.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Experience with bug and test management tools such as Jira and TestRail, and version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, threads, multiprocessing, networking, virtualization, and cloud architecture.
- Experience mentoring QA or SDET teams.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, with awareness of AI-driven testing solutions.
- Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, RESTful APIs, API testing, and cloud computing; storage-domain experience is a plus.
