Responsibilities
- Design and optimize scalable distributed-system components and data-plane capabilities for high-volume processing.
- Implement fault-tolerant designs using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and synchronization.
- Develop performance, load, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
- Build alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Create automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tools for troubleshooting and cloud-infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, change management, and compliance documentation standards.
- Track work with minimal supervision, collaborate across teams, troubleshoot issues, and improve team processes and workflows.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing components of distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, operability, and large-scale data processing.
- Ability to implement fault tolerance, replication, synchronization, failover, recovery, retry, circuit-breaker, and timeout mechanisms.
- Experience with performance and load testing, monitoring, dashboards, telemetry, alarms, alerting, runbooks, and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, automation, cloud-infrastructure maintenance, and change management.
- Knowledge of security controls including encryption, access management, remediation, and compliance requirements for multi-tenant cloud environments.
- Ability to work independently with some guidance, collaborate across teams, analyze complex information, and contribute to continuous improvement.
