Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale resilient, high-throughput backend services for Uber Eats Feed.
- Develop systems supporting personalized recommendations, merchandising, dynamic ranking, and content delivery.
- Design and deploy scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Work on consumer-facing applications with large-scale, low-latency requirements.
- Improve debuggability through monitoring and observability initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience with backend development and delivering end-user products.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience designing and deploying scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Basic understanding of data modeling, APIs, caching, and performance optimization.
- Experience delivering high-impact, production-grade systems in fast-paced environments.
- Preferred experience in scalability engineering, distributed systems, consumer applications, search, recommendations, Ads, or ML-powered personalization.
- Preferred experience with gRPC, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, or similar distributed data systems.
- Preferred experience with monitoring and observability initiatives.
Benefits
- Base salary of USD $171,000–$190,000 per year for San Francisco or Sunnyvale, California-based roles.
