Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable components for distributed systems and large-scale data retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Implement performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, functional, and correctness testing.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, develop troubleshooting automation, and participate in incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance, documentation, and change-management practices.
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code automation for cloud infrastructure and adapt priorities as resources or timelines change.
- Collaborate across teams, review peers’ implementations, identify process improvements, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing components of distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, and operability.
- Ability to work with distributed state management and data-plane platforms for large-scale data processing.
- Experience implementing reliability mechanisms, testing strategies, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop automation and infrastructure-as-code tools for cloud infrastructure maintenance and incident resolution.
- Knowledge of security controls including encryption, access management, remediation, and compliance standards in multi-tenant environments.
- Ability to independently handle standard and non-standard problems, manage timelines, collaborate across teams, and review technical implementations.
