Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Write high-quality production code and review and debug code written by other engineers.
- Lead adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Establish standards for validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, data sensitivity, and compliance.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and automation to improve delivery value and operational outcomes.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve software and system stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendor, startup, and internal technical solutions, architectures, and credentials.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience building applications with LLM-driven code generation tools such as Claude Code or Microsoft Copilot.
- Experience leading the effective and safe use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including secure handling of inputs and outputs and data sensitivity considerations.
- Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
- Practical knowledge of web application development on AWS.
- Experience with Java development, cloud deployments, continuous delivery, and DevOps tooling.
- Preferred: experience building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models into production.
- Preferred: experience integrating, designing, developing, and troubleshooting AI/ML/LLM software solutions.
- Preferred: experience with LLM and generative AI technologies including OpenAI API, GPT models, Hugging Face models, and Transformers architecture.
- Preferred: experience with natural language processing and NLP tools and libraries such as spaCy.
