Base Salary
$175k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services for next-generation applications while solving distributed systems challenges.
- Build, maintain, and scale core infrastructure for foundational reliability, stability, and performance.
- Manage and upgrade large-scale database infrastructure, maintain replication topologies, and automate core operations.
- Collaborate through mob programming, collective code ownership, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Use test-driven development and participate in operational best practices, retrospectives, and team book clubs.
- Use AI tools across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting and coach teammates on effective use.
- Participate in a gradually ramped on-call rotation for operational system health.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience and proficiency in at least one modern programming language; Go is preferred, while Java, Kotlin, or Python experience is transferable.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and database internals and reliability using MySQL.
- 8+ years of software development experience building highly scalable and highly available applications, including REST API development, documentation, and support.
- Comfort with or willingness to work in a mob programming environment, write test-driven code, and share system ownership.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- 1+ year of professional experience using AI tools to improve productivity while building complex SaaS feature sets.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
