Base Salary

$125k - $188k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure on AWS using Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, S3, and Snowflake.
Operate data systems across ingestion, transformation, storage, and orchestration layers.
Improve data platform reliability, performance, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
Apply data modeling, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD automation practices.
Support distributed data systems including PostgreSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, Kafka, and caching systems.
Partner with application, analytics, and AI teams to enable efficient self-service data access.
Participate in design reviews, technical standards, production troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations and off-hours incident response when required.

At least five years of experience in cloud-based data infrastructure, database engineering, or related roles.
At least five years of hands-on experience with AWS data services including Aurora, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, and Athena.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora and Snowflake or similar modern data platforms.
Proficiency in SQL and scripting or programming languages such as Python and Shell.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and GitLab for CI/CD pipelines and data infrastructure automation.
Experience optimizing database performance and operating high-throughput data systems.
Preferred experience includes Kafka, Databricks, data governance, lineage, compliance frameworks, Airflow, dbt, database migrations, OpenSearch, Cassandra, GCP, and Azure.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred; healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
