Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, highly available software solutions for complex initiatives.
- Perform software analysis, architecture, design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and reliability, performance, and scalability improvements.
- Establish and refine software engineering standards, practices, governance mechanisms, and solution patterns across multiple teams.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product partners, and architects to shape technology approaches, roadmaps, and priorities.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, training, delegation, and design-review feedback to other engineers.
- Lead large or complex initiatives, coordinating technical work across teams and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, design principles, software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 10+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Preferred: people-management experience, including performance reviews, coaching, and payroll responsibility.
- Preferred: experience with Java/J2EE/JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL, OpenShift, web services, microservices, NoSQL databases, AWS, and Apache Kafka.
- Preferred: experience with data structures, algorithms, enterprise-scale applications, SOA or OpenAPI methodologies, event-driven architecture, real-time data streaming, and distributed systems.
- Banking or financial services experience is preferred.
