Responsibilities
- Design and develop firmware for STM32 and ARM Cortex-M 32-bit microcontrollers.
- Develop RTOS-based, bare-metal, and hard-real-time applications, preferably using Zephyr.
- Design and maintain low-level drivers for I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, ADC, and GPIO interfaces.
- Develop embedded software in C and use Python for build automation, testing, and development workflows.
- Develop secure bootloaders and secure firmware upgrade mechanisms.
- Contribute to Git- and Docker-based build systems and automated development workflows.
- Develop and execute unit tests within the Zephyr ecosystem and perform firmware integration and system-level validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support residential and commercial energy storage product development and launch.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 8+ years of non-academic experience as an embedded software or firmware engineer.
- Strong expertise developing embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with TCP/IP-based industrial communication protocols, including MQTT and Modbus.
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet technologies, preferably Industrial Ethernet.
- Strong understanding of TLS, cybersecurity principles, and embedded application security.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and independent technical project leadership skills.
- Battery Management System experience, including voltage and temperature monitoring, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of State of Charge estimation and battery algorithms is a plus.
- Experience developing or supporting Energy Management System state machines is an advantage.
