Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision for OneApp, OneWeb, Assisted Channels, and Conversational Banking.
- Influence technology decisions across Omnichannel teams, products, and countries.
- Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, and reusable across ING’s global network.
- Resolve complex engineering challenges and remove technical barriers to scale.
- Drive engineering excellence and accelerate adoption of AI and agentic solutions.
- Advise the Omnichannel CIO and leadership team on technical direction.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering capability across teams.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of engineering experience in complex, large-scale technology environments.
- Experience building and operating customer-facing and mobile solutions with a strong focus on reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges with impact beyond a single product, domain, or country.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with engineers, architects, and senior stakeholders up to CIO level.
- Strong foundation in modern architecture, security, reliability, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Experience across multiple technology areas, including front-end, back-end, mobile, AI, agentic solutions, and platform engineering.
- Experience mentoring engineers and defining enterprise or domain technology visions.
- A clear perspective on effective technology practices and how to implement them.
