Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and delivery of complex business solutions aligned with client objectives and enterprise strategy.
- Create solution and architecture designs that translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable outcomes.
- Design integrations and end-to-end approaches using API-led, integration-focused, and event-driven patterns.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and external partners to support successful programme delivery.
- Promote architectural best practices, governance standards, reuse, maintainability, and delivery excellence.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and enable future business capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and issues while maintaining stakeholder transparency.
- Champion AI-fluent ways of working and contribute to developing future-ready teams and client capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong experience in solution architecture, technical design, and software delivery in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to lead architecture decisions from concept through implementation and operational adoption.
- Demonstrated experience designing API-led, integration-focused, and event-driven solutions.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, influencing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing end-to-end project and delivery lifecycles in client-facing environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Understanding of modern software engineering principles, architecture patterns, and integration approaches.
- Insurance experience, particularly Commercial Insurance or the London Market, is advantageous.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB is desirable.
- Node.js, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Apigee, REST API, and Python experience is desirable.
- Experience with Agile delivery, Scrum, ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, enterprise transformation, or cloud modernisation is desirable.
- AWS, architecture, or cloud-related certifications are desirable.
