Responsibilities
- Design and develop end-to-end software solutions in Python and the AWS ecosystem for critical business problems.
- Build and maintain complex batch and web applications using Python and React.
- Deliver technical components through the full development lifecycle, including demonstrations, design, development, implementation, documentation, and transition to support.
- Develop resilient, scalable, reliable, and high-performing enterprise data solutions for analytics, reporting, machine learning, and data integration.
- Implement effective testing, secure coding, performance optimization, code reviews, and quality practices.
- Support DevOps and infrastructure deployments, cloud automation, and containerized or microservices-based architectures.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, engineering teams, Business Engagement Leads, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Consult on the implementation and maintenance of business applications and contribute to technical communities and knowledge sharing.
- Guide team members or act as a technical advisor, influence decisions, manage risks and controls, and coordinate with related teams.
Requirements
- Experience designing and developing end-to-end solutions using Python and AWS.
- Experience building complex batch and web applications with Python and React.
- Experience delivering technical components across the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience with DevOps, infrastructure deployments, AWS cloud services, and automation.
- Knowledge or experience with Postgres, DocumentDB, and other AWS services.
- Preferred experience in banking or the enterprise data domain.
- Experience with REST or SOAP APIs, microservices, containerized architecture, Kafka or MQ messaging, and CI/CD integration using Jenkins or GitLab.
- Awareness of AWS and Azure environments.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, produce thorough documentation, and deliver solutions to Barclays standards.
- In-depth technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, stakeholder communication skills, and understanding of risk, controls, and regulatory obligations.
