Responsibilities
- Design, program, test, document, and implement computerized information processing systems and custom applications in a Microsoft .NET environment.
- Develop new systems from requirements and user specifications and convert or upgrade existing applications to web-based applications.
- Provide technical assistance and training to end users, including identifying requirements and explaining system specifications and instructions.
- Draft system documentation, specifications, and programming project status reports.
- Coordinate with other divisions to support efficient, effective, and high-quality delivery and operation of technology solutions.
- Analyze existing information processing systems and design enhancements and alternative business-process solutions.
- Troubleshoot client/server applications and performance and interoperability issues.
- May lead and direct the work of others and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Five years of work-related experience developing and coding computer systems.
- Three years of preferred experience working with Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications.
- Experience working in formal testing environments and troubleshooting interoperability problems among desktop applications, servers, and databases.
- Knowledge of Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic Scripting, Visual Basic Script Host, ActiveX controls, object-oriented programming, SQL, Access, ODBC, Internet infrastructure, and Microsoft web development technologies.
- Ability to develop web pages with interactive elements using VBScript, XML, or ActiveX and to develop user interfaces.
- Strong verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, 10-year driving history, successful background investigation, and compliance with Dallas County driving requirements.
- Ability to remain on call at all times and lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
