Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Drive firmware architecture, design, and development for server, silicon, and rack infrastructure.
  • Develop low-level firmware interfaces and define boot and management flows for ASIC and rack infrastructure.
  • Perform end-to-end firmware-level debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Architect, design, and deliver data-center-class platform technologies.
  • Develop platform initialization and low-level peripheral drivers, including for PCIe, I2C, eMMC, SPI, USB, and UARTs.
  • Implement hardware and firmware security primitives and support memory management, scheduling, BMC, and rack management.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 3+ years of technical engineering experience; or a master's degree plus 6+ years; or a bachelor's degree plus 8+ years; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred qualifications include 12+ years of technical engineering experience, or the stated degree and experience combinations.
  • 10+ years of professional experience designing and developing embedded software solutions.
  • Experience taking SoC architecture and design from early concept through final product shipment.
  • Experience driving firmware architecture solutions with detailed troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience with PCIe, memory interfaces, OS primitives, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, and threading.
  • Experience implementing hardware and firmware security primitives.
  • Experience with platform initialization, low-level peripheral drivers, BMC, and rack management.

Benefits

  • Typical U.S. base pay range is $142,800-$274,800 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of $188,000-$304,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
