
Senior Consulting Engineer - Japan

Responsibilities
- Serve on customer projects involving design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation, research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, and tooling.
- Provide consultative support for strategic users, customers, and prospects during implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proofs of concept.
- Provide architectural, technical, migration, and hands-on implementation assistance.
- Handle L1 to L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to larger projects.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmaps and account plans.
- Develop public and internal documentation, knowledge base articles, ClickHouse Learning content, reference architectures, blog posts, and benchmark results.
- Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
- Participate in scheduling and on-call coverage to provide high-quality 24x7 global support.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed database management systems.
- Technical breadth and depth in DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
- Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, such as EC2.
- Experience with ClickHouse is a bonus.
- Experience with open-source technologies as a user, community member, or contributor is a bonus.
- Experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS is a bonus.
- Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, RabbitMQ, or other technologies is a bonus.
