Base Salary

$75k - $85k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Natural/ADABAS mainframe applications.
  • Maintain and support mainframe JCL, procedures, parameters, and data objects.
  • Develop enhancements and new programming from technical specifications.
  • Maintain ADABAS database structures and perform database modifications.
  • Run batch jobs and produce ad hoc reports and queries.
  • Develop applications that retrieve and process data from external data providers.
  • Apply testing, analysis, change-management, documentation, and security procedures.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to develop programming supporting their needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information science, systems analysis, software engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as determined by the Office of Innovation & Technology and Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of Software AG Natural programming, ADABAS database theory and structures, PREDICT Data Dictionary functionality, systems analysis and design, IBM JCL, IBM z/360 OS, ISPF, and program flow-chart documentation.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development process.
  • Ability to translate technical specifications into application code, manage changing priorities, work independently or on a team, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • VSAM file-structure knowledge is a plus.
