Responsibilities

Maintain and support Natural/ADABAS mainframe applications.
Maintain and support mainframe JCL, procedures, parameters, and data objects.
Develop enhancements and new programming from technical specifications.
Maintain ADABAS database structures and perform database modifications.
Run batch jobs and produce ad hoc reports and queries.
Develop applications that retrieve and process data from external data providers.
Apply testing, analysis, change-management, documentation, and security procedures.
Interface with internal and external customers to develop programming supporting their needs.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information science, systems analysis, software engineering, or a closely related field.
5+ years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as determined by the Office of Innovation & Technology and Human Resources.
Knowledge of Software AG Natural programming, ADABAS database theory and structures, PREDICT Data Dictionary functionality, systems analysis and design, IBM JCL, IBM z/360 OS, ISPF, and program flow-chart documentation.
Strong understanding of the full software development process.
Ability to translate technical specifications into application code, manage changing priorities, work independently or on a team, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
VSAM file-structure knowledge is a plus.
