Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, test, deploy, and monitor integrations between the NBI platform and third-party systems.
- Own the full integration lifecycle, including technical discovery, API contract design, implementation, reliability monitoring, and production support.
- Work across modern TypeScript and AWS Lambda microservices and legacy .NET/C# and SQL-based integration layers.
- Implement robust integrations with appropriate error handling, retry logic, observability, and alerting.
- Collaborate with external technical partners and internal product, engineering, and QA teams to clarify requirements and resolve integration issues.
- Document integration contracts, data flows, and operational runbooks.
- Use Claude Code and agentic AI workflows for planning, scaffolding, implementation, refinement, test generation, and delivery verification.
- Contribute to AI-augmented engineering practices and use strong judgment to validate AI-generated code.
- Work within the Shape Up delivery model and use Linear, Notion, and GitLab for delivery, documentation, and CI/CD.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for working with technical partners and distributed internal teams.
- Strong commercial experience building and maintaining third-party integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
- Solid Node.js and TypeScript experience building production-quality backend services and integrations independently.
- Ability to read and work within .NET/C# codebases.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including writing and reviewing queries and reasoning about data access patterns.
- Demonstrated experience using Claude Code or equivalent agentic AI tooling as a core engineering workflow.
- Strong judgment when verifying and refining AI-generated code, especially at API boundaries and integration-critical paths.
- Strong attention to detail in API contract design, error handling, and edge-case coverage.
- Hands-on AWS Lambda and serverless architecture experience, including infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, is highly desirable.
- Experience with POS systems, payment processors, or hospitality platforms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AI agent orchestration, prompt engineering, context management, observability tools such as Datadog, and tools including Linear, Notion, and GitLab is desirable.
- Experience with Shape Up, Kanban, or other non-sprint delivery models and exposure to multi-region or multi-market SaaS environments are desirable.
