Base Salary
$166k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build next-generation ngrok Agent features for networking, integrations, and remote management.
- Design Agent software for latency, throughput, correctness, reliability, and safe behavior under network failures, misconfiguration, and resource constraints.
- Develop and maintain SDKs and embeddable Agent components that are easy to integrate and stable over time.
- Improve diagnostics, logging, metrics, and observability so customer issues can be understood from operational facts.
- Ensure the Agent behaves consistently across developer laptops, servers, CI systems, containers, and varied hardware.
- Collaborate with product, platform, and support teams to explain failures and improve the developer experience.
Requirements
- Experience building systems-level software that works reliably under pressure.
- Comfort with Go, Rust, C, C++, or Java; Go experience is especially valued.
- Ability to reason about reliability, security, performance, and technical tradeoffs.
- Networking, proxies, agents, SDKs, embeddable runtimes, observability tooling, or meaningful open-source systems experience is preferred.
- Candidates must be based in the United States and authorized to work permanently in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
