Base Salary
$72k - $134k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software supporting claims intake, adjudication, and payment processing.
- Build and enhance Java-based applications and services.
- Develop, consume, and support RESTful APIs integrating with Core Claims platforms.
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and data access logic.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, quality engineers, and engineers to deliver solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code readability, maintainability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot production applications, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Contribute to technical modernization, process improvements, and adoption of new tools or patterns.
- Use GitHub for source control and collaboration and JIRA for work tracking, estimation, and sprint planning.
- Communicate technical concepts, design decisions, and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in IT or a related technical or engineering field.
- At least 3 years of software development experience.
- Experience developing in Java.
- Experience creating and consuming APIs.
- Experience with SQL Server, GitHub, and JIRA.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn quickly and independently.
- Preferred: excellent research and debugging skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and claims or Securian Financial experience.
- Preferred: JavaScript and AWS development experience.
