Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate high-scale backend services and APIs.
- Own backend problem areas end to end, including requirements, system design, production rollout, and ongoing operations.
- Design distributed systems with strong scalability, availability, reliability, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Optimize systems for performance, latency, scalability, and cost.
- Write maintainable, well-tested backend code and participate in code and design reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and improve system reliability, developer productivity, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 4–8 years of experience building backend software systems in production environments.
- Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages, preferably Golang.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, backend systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud-based systems such as AWS or equivalent.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance trade-offs.
- Practical understanding of AI systems, including large language models, and integrating AI capabilities into backend software.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver systems end to end with minimal guidance.
