Responsibilities
- Architect and build systems for the observability platform.
- Design and implement observability improvements for diagnosing production issues.
- Handle production customer escalations and coach teammates.
- Write and improve production-ready database code.
- Own and maintain high-quality code areas for the Observability Team.
- Diagnose test failures and fix bugs in existing code.
- Investigate performance impacts of code changes.
- Interview candidates for advanced software engineering positions.
- Develop expertise on cutting-edge database and observability developments.
- Lead development and project management for larger projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on large initiatives.
- Advise Product Management on technical product direction.
- Define product roadmaps with Product Management and Engineering leadership.
- Champion unit and integration tests for correctness.
- Work with customers and support engineers to resolve issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and programming distributed systems.
- Experience with latency-sensitive, high throughput systems.
- Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming.
- Familiarity with database internals or core components for data processing.
- Familiarity with observability ecosystem and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
- Strong time and project management skills.
- Good understanding of information security management.
