Base Salary

$102k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to firmware architecture and design across product development, manufacturing, and productization.
  • Develop and debug BIOS/UEFI firmware, including driver interfaces, system libraries, SoC bring-up, bootloaders, platform initialization, and low-level hardware features.
  • Work with peripherals and operating-system primitives including PCIe, NVMe, I2C, SPI, USB, UARTs, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, and threading.
  • Support the development, validation, compliance, scheduling, and rollout of new hardware SKUs for next-generation compute and high-memory systems.
  • Manage requirements and feature delivery through sprints, backlogs, milestones, and continuous planning.
  • Define vendor-agnostic hardware requirements and collaborate with internal teams, silicon vendors, ODMs, and OEMs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 1+ year of technical engineering experience; or bachelor's degree in one of these fields and 2+ years of technical engineering experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of professional experience designing and developing BIOS/UEFI firmware solutions.
  • Proficiency developing low-level firmware or software for hardware platforms, including firmware, BIOS, UEFI, EDK2, and BMC.
  • Demonstrable C programming skills and the ability to debug issues spanning multiple subsystems.
  • Preferred familiarity with Intel, AMD, or ARM server architectures; server-product UEFI/BIOS development; hardware schematics; and PCIe, I2C, SPI, USB, and UART buses.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, develop and monitor success metrics, think strategically, work at cloud scale, and handle ambiguity.
