Responsibilities
- Act as a technical reference for the AI Gateway development team and contribute to important technical decisions.
- Design, develop, and evolve the Java/Spring Boot control plane that translates management operations into Kubernetes CRDs configuring the runtime data plane.
- Develop capabilities for LLM provider routing and failover, guardrails, corporate APIs exposed as MCP Servers, AI Agents, scopes, and credentials.
- Integrate the platform with multiple LLM providers while maintaining provider independence and consistent behavior.
- Develop secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth, JWT/JWKS, scopes, Keycloak, and external customer authentication servers.
- Apply resilience, observability, security, governance, and operational excellence practices.
- Participate in technical analysis, trade-off discussions, technical discovery, proofs of concept, code reviews, refinements, and technical support of the platform.
- Investigate technical problems and improve the platform’s quality, stability, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Solid senior-level experience developing digital products, cloud-native platforms, or distributed systems.
- Strong experience with recent Java versions and Spring Boot for REST APIs and backend product services.
- Practical Kubernetes experience, including operators, CRDs, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and workload lifecycles.
- Experience with distributed architectures, microservices, REST APIs, control plane/data plane patterns, and hexagonal architecture.
- Solid knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger, API contract design, versioning, and API lifecycle management.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0 client credentials, JWT, JWKS validation, and scope modeling.
- Interest in and familiarity with generative and agentic AI, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, guardrails, MCP, and A2A.
- Experience with scalability, resilience, security, observability, automated testing, CI/CD, and code review practices.
- Ability to translate product needs into clear, sustainable technical solutions and collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams.
- Preferred qualifications include LLM integrations, Agentic Development, MCP Servers and transports, Kubernetes Gateway API, Envoy, agentgateway, fabric8, Keycloak, Python, AI security, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Tempo/Jaeger, Grafana, PostgreSQL, Flyway, React, TypeScript, Module Federation, SaaS multi-tenancy, hybrid deployments, ArchUnit, and Testcontainers.
